Well, for the past few years, mom and dad flew off on holiday during that period, so we didn't really have a 'proper' Chinese New Year. We even had to have our reunion dinner earlier and what-not because of their flight schedule or my work roster.Originally posted by Wanda:We're not sleep-deprived hor! I'm single too, so I don't fear the financial implications of the Chinese New Year!
So, well, increasingly, over the years, CNY has lost its significance to me. -
Wanda, you should be glad you didn't join nursing.
All my colleagues and I are now waiting anxiously for the new roster to be out late this Saturday. The rosters are for the next two weeks and most of us cannot confirm any Christmas / New Year's plans because we have to wait for our rosters!
I even have colleagues who are going to throw Christmas parties, but not sure if their party can go ahead because of the uncertainties with the roster!
Times like these, be thankful you're a regular 5-day workweek personnel! -

Well, in my ex-9 to 5 five-day week job, I was also deprived of christmas eve, christmas, boxing day, new year's eve and new year's day and some other public holidays, all bec.
