OK, I just thought of a good explanation / excuse for this!Originally posted by nightzip:make sure you clean the shelves etc once in a while, dust collects.
all this to be done yourself since its your home.![]()
It's a rented apt, not my own home per se.Originally posted by DriftingGuy:Eh... I tot rhonda already has a place of her own?![]()
I fully agree!Originally posted by sbst275:Talking abt room space, new HDB flats space are getting smaller
yeah of course .... there's a chance of that ...Originally posted by Kenashi:i don't think i will ever sell it off if i owned one.
errr, tell that to those who bought their property during 1997, they r living on negative assets![]()
Originally posted by Fatum:yeah of course .... there's a chance of that ...
but if it's a boat ... that's a certain outcome ...
but I do like the idea of living on a boat too though ... but not in Singapore waters perhaps ... it'll be like living on a long kang ...![]()
Hmm... let's see...Originally posted by LazerLordz:I want a balcony or a seperate area for plants and a telescope mount.
I would love to have a walk-in library for all my books and collectibles from over the years.
A workroom with a open glass workstation would be nice, and it should preferably have a large window for sunlight.
Then a little movie den with a fridge for drinks and stuff.
Whole house/flat to be wireless and with powerful speakers for immersive gaming or movie experience.
Well, that's my dream bachelor pad..if only it was on the top of one of those apartments facing the CBD.
what are walk in wardrobes?Originally posted by Rhonda:I thought walk-in wardrobes are pretty ok?
If the clothes start to gather dust in there, then maybe, it's time to give them away cause they're not worn often enough!![]()
A lot of people have this dream too...and their wish came true!! until tsunami came true tooOriginally posted by Fatum:I have this dream of living by the ocean somewhere ... on a house by the sea, facing the thunderous surf ... with a glorious sunset and sun-rise every single day ... a place where wifey and I can grow old together ...![]()
I'm happy with those 5RM flats in Tiong Bahru or Alexandra.Originally posted by Rhonda:Hmm... let's see...
Your needs, plus your future wifey's needs... you'll probably need one of the larger penthouses here!![]()
I noticed Sengkang flats esp those mansion, the kitchen is so narrow!Originally posted by Rhonda:I fully agree!
The rooms aren't just smaller, the blocks are built closer together! It's awful!
I prefer the older apartments.
Unless Singapore annexes Johor, look for this to be a continuing housing trend as the government works toward its goal of 7 million inhabitants by the year 20XX.Originally posted by Rhonda:I fully agree!

Yes, that's for real, as a house that's on / near the ocean is subjected to a lot more salt-water spray than a house set farther back. Salt-water means corrosion to household appliances with metal in it.Originally posted by Rhonda:Not quite sure how true it is... but I heard before that if you live near the sea, metal stuff in your house get corroded easily.
Is that an urban myth or is it for real? Anyone able to clear the air on this?![]()

At this rate, 'family size' five room HDB flats arent meant for families anymoreOriginally posted by Meia Gisborn:Unless Singapore annexes Johor, look for this to be a continuing housing trend as the government works toward its goal of 7 million inhabitants by the year 20XX.

And you will really know how often your neighbour takes a bath
SL, I hope your dream home comes with a dream team of maids to help out with the housekeeping!!Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:My dream home... hmm.. hoping to purchase one by the end of this year!
I'd like at least 3 bedrooms (master bedroom, 2nd bedroom as guest room for parents or gd pals to stay, and the third, either as a computer room or for junior!). All rooms would have alot of drawer space to keep everything away from dust & make the place look neat & tidy. Would like a separate dining area from a fairly large living area (good for quite a no. of people to gather in, e.g. for a birthday party or Bible study group!). Would be nice to have a water feature in the living room like a small indoor pond for fish (water feature will help cool the place down too, I reckon!)
To me, the bathroom is the most important place in the house!I'd like mine to be fairly large, with a shower stall AND a bathtub, and still have plenty of space for toiletries & stuff. hehe... if got money, i'd like to add in a jacuzzi
Kitchen should be bright & airy & face the garden instead of some brick wall or the neighbour's! It should have alot of cupboard space for utensils, condiments & appliances as well as cookbooks as I like the 'uncluttered' look & like everything to be kept away neatly.
Well, that's it!![]()
