Fantastic romantic place, until you have to do the housework, gradens and lawns.Originally posted by elindra:Well my first home turned out pretty much what I wanted (It has a tatami, it has a pond (tiny one)). I'm never a big fan of the walk-in wardrobe unless it is as big as a room
One thing I didn't get which I really one is an outdoor kitchen which we had in my old place (parent's home) The space and the feeling of cooking "outdoors" is fun, plus you do get interesting visitors like inquinsitive birds when you're cookingand the neighbour's cat
.
Anyway my dream home is not one by the sea (the corrosion to metals is not a myth) but one near a forest/park, near a lake with mountains in the background (Something like those nice quaint villages in Austria....or something like Queenstown in NZ) where I Can have a GIANT koi pond with a pavillion in the middle , a nice garden with a BBQ area which leads to an outdoor kitchen.
If I can afford that, I won't even be doing the housework. I'll hire a maidOriginally posted by Kan_i:Fantastic romantic place, until you have to do the housework, gradens and lawns.
How are you ever going to find time for WOW![]()

how about an apartment with nth insideOriginally posted by Wanda:To own your first home, better make sure you have some savings in the range of tens of thousands (at least) - for the downpayment, conveyancing fees, renovation and/or buying of furniture, home appliances, etc.
Otherwise, one may find him-/herself in debt for several years, and hardly any $$$ in the bank account, and no long holidays and no luxuries for several years too.![]()

now you know why Home Depot managed to grow to be so big ...Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:The one golden rule of home ownership that I learned the hard way after acquiring my home some years back:
Home improvement projects never cease. The completion of one project usually highlights an inadequacy in one's living space that can only be addressed by initiating another home improvement project.
