serious because it is always serious whenever these things happen... it's a trait which i see all the time.. even my boss said it today about her niece and nephew...
the niece can get away with almost anything because "she's a girl" and the boy is developing a complex of sorts because no matter what, even when he has done the same thing as the girl, he's gonna get it..
her sister has seen it and has taken steps to correct it...
so, it may seem like play, but don't do it.. it only reinforces what happens out there...
remember the "you go! girl!" is chauvanism, just as bad as any MCP out there... -

my point being: jest or not, don't do it...

sadly, there is a double standard... if you are willing to accept what is to your advantage without accepting what is to your disadvantage, what credibility is there left?
