I will start baking CNY goodies soon. Bought ghee to make peanut sugee. And then not sure if I want to make pineapple tarts. I honestly prefer the Taiwanese fung li su and they are easily available here albeit expensive (by my standard lah - a box of 15 costs C$13

littlestream, ong lai tarts are a lot of effort to prepare. I love the ones from this bakery in Ghim Moh called... hmm... Smiling Orchid? They are usually sold out 1-2 weeks before CNY. They're not too sweet and are a tad sour... just right!
I know the pineapple tarts from Taiwan that you were describing. They come individually wrapped, right? We have them here too. They're pretty expensive there!
And... you really wanna see my gown? Bought just yesterday! I already want a wrist corsage to go... I put up a few corsage photos in the ''Flowers for Rhonda'' thread.
Tonight, I found out that we ARE going to have corsages! I requested that mine be a wrist corsage! -

I tell you, my mom's super bossy! She's lucky her son is long-suffering, obliging, very easy-going and laid-back! He's everything I'm not! I'm the devil!

My gown looked blue under the store's yellow lights... now, it looks green!
Cham... now I must make sure that I go on a diet so I'll not put on any weight before that night otherwise, I won't be able to fit into my gown anymore!
