I don't know how to relax -
if i was strictly an apple fan, i would not be typing on a PC...
one that somehow is getting slower and slower.. which became up to speed again after a reformat..
one that, even after i paid for a license, i can't have the discs to the OS to move over to another HDD... all they would give me are "recovery discs"
one that seizes up occasionally...
no one had problems like that with macs
besides, gamers would prefer the PC.. because a lot think that PCs are the platforms for them, thinking that the Apple cannot "handle the games".. publishers go where the crowd goes...
and at the office, sadly, the tech people lament we are not using linux, unix or mac OS but do not have the moral courage to tell the big bosses who don't know anything and just follow "market leaders" and go with windoze.. causing a lot of problems at work

I have worked with both PCs and Macs... they are the same in terms of reliability, given the price you pay for them. Not having Windows disk is a matter for you and your vendor choice. I personally like PCs as for the price difference i get a much more powerful machine. Yes unfortunately as with most things industry do set a trend. Macs are more reliable due to lack of vendors making products for that platform and Apple has a tight control over vendors who do make products. With PC's there are hundreds of vendors making the same products and their variations of it. Which is the reason why their are so much issues. Thats why you have to choose the brand and models carefully for compatibility.
I personally find PC easier to work with hardware wise. MACs can be troublesome to network and integrate to larger systems, when you are not given much budget. Naturally they are easier now.
As for gamers.... lol PC's will always have an edge due to mass install base. ANd most gamers are tinkers. You cant tink with Macs much. -
yeah... i tinker with stuff.. but it comes to a stage when one realises it's not worth the effort tinkering with it when you can have a powerful honkin' thing there which is beautiful and doesn't need anything else for about 4 years
you know the strange thing about windoze and mac? the last 2 big "upgrades" of windows, to 98 and then to xp, the fellas went and dug up evidence that the people of microsoft actually patched everything they had for the two OS thru a Mac or something... i read that somewhere and it was actually authenticated

Anyways there will be no difference soon with Macs and PC, they aref inally going to use the same platform.. i say this is the Death of OS X. I understand eye candy and "perceived" stability will initially win OS X some customers, but like the mythical Linux... user will still stick with PCs, cause as u say it... they have it at work.
Macs have tried the have at school have at home... but you see this doesnt always work... When i used to work for the Blind Society we hated having Macs... we had problems hooking up braile devices and also screen reading programs do not work with Macs, due to large graphics UI with no text. or even a systematicaly flow of navigation with keyboard. -
