My aunt used to throw in the ingredients into her slow cooker in the morning and by lunchtime, she'd have a very tasty and nutritious meal of soup!
My friend, fennymouse, went one step further... she lugged her pressure cooker from her home country (China), and apparently, it can help you cook really tasty soups in a much shorter time!
I tried one of her soups before and was amazed that the cooking time was so short! -

Y'know, just before I left, some sorta divine justice happened... those colleagues who mocked, snubbed and belittled me after I committed an error at work suffered some sorta 'retribution' when one by one, they started to commit similar errors themselves!
I was stunned when I heard the news!
And then, one of my senior colleagues from my old ward was sent up to my ward for an attachment and she has seen how nasty these people can get and she's been putting a few of them in their rightful places! It was pretty dramatic and eventful - the arrogant had their mistakes highlighted and corrected, the snobbish probably suffered the shock of their lives when they tried to bully her and a shouting match ensued! Things have already been set in motion by the higher-up's to remove a few senior 'Empress Dowagers' from that ward to shake things up a little, teach them lessons in humility, and break the bad culture in this place.

How's the little one? In daycare yet?
We have no CNY hols too but it is celebrated in various Chinese malls. It's almost like in HKG. We get DJs/Comperes at these shows, with our local singers performing. Even lion dance too.
I've to dig out the CNY CDs that I bought during one of my trips back to Sg. Do you deck up your home? I do.
Almost too much that hubby took down some and gave away.
