Actually, Jay Chou has gone a long way. Heard that in the beginning of his career, he could only compose 'marketable', soft pop music for other singers cause he was told to his face by record companies that he was too ugly to sell any albums.

It's odd... I was ok in my corporate job, but I made a mess in my nursing job. I just couldn't be part of their culture. For some strange reason, my entire few years in the hospital, I stuck out like a sore thumb.
Just met an ex-colleague, who's now my friend, today and we discussed about areas where I had botched up! 
Thing is, I even know where and when I botched up!
Good thing is I know that I did well in my previous jobs... at least, my self-confidence doesn't suffer that big a blow! -
