Is it really necessary to have that many cookbooks taking up shelf space? Couldn't you just grab any recipe off the Internet? Come on, man! We're living in the 20th century!Originally posted by Rhonda:I've started sorting out my cookbooks collection...
Biangz... about an hour ago, I started to type in a list of cookbooks that I have. Not even halfway through yet and already, I've exceeded 100 cookbooks!!![]()

Hi, breytonhartge!Originally posted by breytonhartge:good night bear...
meia you really like cooking huh? what sort of food is your favourite?
I would venture to say that recipes garnered from the Internet tend to be, well, more current as they can be updated on-the-fly by the recipe publisher (say, based on feedback from people who have tried it).Originally posted by Rhonda:I love the photos in the cookbooks.![]()
And it's true that you can get recipes off the internet... but how many of them are tried-and-tested?
Besides, I like to prepare for meals with friends by flipping through my cookbooks for inspiration.
I used to spend Mondays to Fridays leafing through cookbooks on my way to work, then on Saturday mornings, I'd wake up super-duper early to go to the Ghim Moh wet market and bring home the freshest ingredients they have there!I always chose the freshest fish and vegetables and all that!
And then, return home and cook up a storm for my ex.

Don't you miss Singapore food?Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Hi, breytonhartge!
No, I don't particularly like cooking. Despise it, actually. It eats into time that could otherwise be spent on other productive activities. I'll cook only when absolutely necessary, like when it's snowing or just too bloody cold to eat out.
I do tend to favour pasta dishes when I cook. What about you?
How many cups of coffee have you consumed thus far this evening?Originally posted by stellazio:haiz haiz..my heart is pumping very fast..![]()
Well, yes and no. I am not a particularly good cook to begin with, and the ingredients necessary for authentic S'pore food are rather hard to come by in this part of the country.Originally posted by Rhonda:Don't you miss Singapore food?![]()
