Yeah. It isn't easy. I keep wondering where he is. I almost teared in front of my colleagues when I had to attend a workshop and the trainer started asking us to imagine our feelings of a recent loss.. and he popped into my mind. So paisay...
... to explain that u feel this way cos of a cat, when some others are sad cos of losing a family member.... but ... a pet IS family right? But good also ba.. the session forced me to 'confront' the loss.. so.. well.. I'm moving on... 
I couldn't stop myself and it was super paiseh as well 
Yeah he was like a family member. My mum even added our family name to his name

Can you imagine last night, I was watching some crappy show, "Amityville : The Evil Returns" when I fell asleep just when the movie was ending?!
Then I woke up slightly over an hour later and couldn't sleep anymore and watched Figure Skating Pairs!
Sooooo graceful, some of them! -
I cannot imagine that Luge is a 'sport'! Look at those big men having fun on their luges right now on Ch 5's coverage of Torino 2006!

ShrodingersCat and elindra, I, too, understand how it feels to lose a pet.
Since I moved here, I've had two cats. The first one had the habit of jumping out of the kitchen window to gallivant outside. She did it thrice and the third time, I suspect she left to die cause she had a very very bad cold and would sneeze and spray greenish-yellow snot all over! Yucks! Was going to bring her to the vet, but she went missing each time! On her last night, I felt something was different because she sat there, looking at me with this funny look in her eyes, almost like she wanted to talk to me... such a tender look... different from her 'normal' days... I knew then that something ominous was going to happen and was determined to bring her to the vet's immediately the next day. But that very night, she left... and was never found again. God bless her!
When Cody went missing, I cried a lot too! Till today, I still miss Cody. -
Actually I cried everytime I lost a dog. I cried when my cousin's pom died too coz I always played with it when I went over to their place and carried her around.
But the Spitz was the closest to me, although he was the naughtiest -
the first pet that was really close to me was a dog who died when I was studying overseas. I used to cycle here and there with him. My parents didnt tell me he died until I came back. Accident.
And I stopped feeling for pets for many years after that until I got my cat.
It's like the story in The little Prince.. the Fox and the boy.
We've been tamed.. and the wheat fields never look the same again. -

Oh well, I've worked many a Sundays and Public Holidays anyways, so it isn't THAT bad. It wasn't just in Nursing... in my last corporate job too.
Eh... ok, ok... it's hard to be sympathetic. 
If you feel bad, think about this - SL had to report for work today.
Anyways, hope you can concentrate and finish your work fast and enjoy the rest of your Sunday! -

Pets like cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters and chinchillas can actually interact with you and it's so endearing when they come running to you when you call them, or they follow you all over the house, or snuggle up to you, stuff like that.Originally posted by elindra:I dunno... just not able to handle the death of fluffy pets well. For stingrays, you can't exactly enjoy any of the above. THere's a limit to how 'close' you can get to aquatic pets, I suppose.
I mean, I loved the carp and goldfishes in my aquarium and when they died, I felt bad cause they were with me when they were tiny and they grew very large and fat. But the loss I felt was nothing compared to my heartbreak over my cats. -
