Come on, admit it! You can't find a good enough guy in Singapore, so you're expanding your search to Australia!Originally posted by Rhonda:Eh... who said anything about furthering studies?I'm heading there to work. I will only enroll for further studies after I get my PR, which makes school fees considerably cheaper.

Well, you can certainly plan on living the single life and beefing up your financial position to accommodate it--just don't give up on hoping that you'll eventually meet Mr. Walking ATM... er, I mean Mr. Right.Originally posted by Rhonda:Yo, MG!

Truth be told, I'm growing accustomed once more to the possibility of me remaining single for life and as such, I NEED to do something to beef up my savings and retirement funds and what-not.![]()
wah.. damn good. I belive the pay also damn good.. few times more than here?Originally posted by Rhonda:Not so for nurses.
We go there on some work visa, and then within 2 months or so, we can request that the hospital sponsor us for PR and even if we don't actively seek it, within a year or so, the hospital will ask if we'd want PR.
Good, right?![]()

(Perhaps the saner pace of living in Australia will allow you to develop that particular aspect of your social life.)

Even after taking the high taxes into consideration, we still end up earning much more than our measly remuneration here!

I heard UK pays even better... in £ somemore
You could conceivably have your mail redirected to your parents' house and have them handle the bills for you. Or you could leave an active bank account in Singapore and have the bills paid automatically via GIRO (I think that's what it's called); you can replenish the account through wire transfers from the bank in Australia with whom you do business.Originally posted by Rhonda:MG, I've got a question... how do you get transactions done say, if you need to pay bills and what-not back in SG? Do you do a US bank-to-Singapore bank transfer?

Hmm... I'd have to start paying off the amount deducted from my CPF account for my nursing diploma studies. And since I'm no longer working but need to keep my cash for the move and yet, still need to get some stuff for my move, might need to use my Visa and would have to pay those bills whilst I'm there too.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:You could conceivably have your mail redirected to your parents' house and have them handle the bills for you. Fortunately, I've never had to do that, as I left Singapore right after NS and didn't have the opportunity to rack up any bills there. What kinds of bills do you foresee yourself still paying in Singapore even after your departure?
