I hate numbers too. I've always preferred the "soft" subjects.
Unfortunately number crunching is part of my job Cannot escape! Count wrongly my head will kena chopped.
But sometimes its not just about adding numbers up. I've seen some very "creative" income & expenditure statements from certain organisations. Audited ones somemore! -

Re: foreclosures. When I realised how crazy the housing market is here, this was the first thing I asked my realtor and lender. They say you need alot of cash, which I don't have
and it's a long sometimes convoluted process. *heavy sigh* You must be making tons! -

then in secondary, i developed a liking for history, and later, accounting
jc was blackout period, ie, i dont know what happened to me then

hmm... that's not what I read.. will do some checking up...
All you really need is enough for a deposit right?
Also, you really don't need to know about foreclosures, you can walk around the neighbourhood that you are looking at and talk to people, that is the best way... or if you are buddy buddy with the realestate agent... maybe will give you lobang, like me...
