  Errr become chef is not a bad job option leh
  It is a very mobile occupation and if you have passion for the job and is creative you can also go very far

  i wanna do something like game developer those stuffs u know. the thing is i wanted to go to some courses i was interested in RP and SP and i didn't work hard towards that, i dunno why....
  
  i like cooking but i dun think i wanna be stuck being a chef all my life, dunno if the diploma from shatec can allow me to have other opportunities in other areas.

  You can always take your game developing courses on the side and practice during your free time and start your own portfolio

  Well Deathy, you can work and pursue your dreams if you're really passionate about it. No one said it will be easy. It will be alot of hard work and sacrifices but ultimately nothing is sweeter than the fruit that you laboured to sow.
  
  Work and study if you can manage. This would mean no Maple Story and maybe less sgForums.
  
  Most chefs I know branch out into managing a business

  Well, do you have any interest in cooking at all? You must bear in mind that the training to be a chef is very tough - long hours in a hot, stuffy kitchen; the possibility of getting burnt / scalded is there; now and then, you might get cut by your sharp instruments; when you graduate, you'd have to work during public holidays and weekends and take long shifts and your colleagues will give you the mediocre and monotonous tasks first... It's going to be a long, hard climb.
  
  You must have a passion for food and cooking and all that to stand out as a good chef.
  
  There are books you might want to borrow or purchase to read to let you know more about the profession. One of them I'd recommend is :
  
  - The Making of a Chef, Michael Ruhlman
  
  It might not be a local context as Chef Ruhlman graduated from the CIA (Culinary Inst of America), but it can give you a vague idea of what it's like to be a chef and introduce you to culinary terminologies that you'd be exposed to.

  Deathy, elindra's right, if you want good results, you really have to spend less time on stuff like computer games and sgForums and really concentrate on your work. Afterall, no pain, no gain! Discipline!!
