Keep on swatting the flies, but avoid hitting the lamp and chandelier! I guarantee the SPLAT sounds made when you hit a fly and turn it to fly juice is extremely satisfying!![]()

I live so close to the border (but not as close as San Ysidro which is the closest town to the border) that they've nicknamed my town, Chula JuanaOriginally posted by Rhonda:That's really unsafe! I've heard lots of bad stories from my American friends about that border! And esp about the high crime rates in Mexico! Try not to go there, hor!
jetta, I really don't know where you get the energy to move every three years. It's like you have to start all over again for everything! Even your kids have to adjust to it - new school, new friends, etc. Do they ever act up and all that when it's time to move?![]()

Hubby told our neighbours about the incident and found out that we may have been targetted by default. A few days prior, the neighbour to our left got her car broken into while she was at the mall. The thief took all her credit cards, ID, garage door opener, spare key to daughter's truck and atm cards. She found out later that the thief tried to use her ATM card 15 mins after the burglary. Anyway, since the thief knew her address, she felt that maybe the thief came by, saw no car in my drive way (mine was parked in the garage), decided to target my house instead.Originally posted by breytonhartge:the guy was just plain stupid... made too many mistakes... and we came back at the right time...So I guess we were fortunate.

jetta,
I agree with Fatum; you should seriously consider getting and learning to use a firearm for home defence. Even though California is seriously firearms-unfriendly and requires its residents to jump through lots of hoops to acquire guns, it can still be done.
It might be worth paying the local gunstore a visit for recommendations on firearms suitable for home defence.
