My maternal grandma used to operate a Teochew porridge stall at the ol' Kallang Airport Road hawker ctr a long long time ago, and Mom was telling me of the cute stalls in the dried food section of wet markets where they'd sell all sorts of condiments to go with porridge, including buar kee, but sadly, those stalls have become extinct.
