You had to request for a Friday vacation day? Here, no school, no work that day and Monday. Long weekend, whoo-hoo! Got plans?Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Doing all I can to not fall asleep here at work. Thankfully, I've requested a vacation day tomorrow (Friday), so it'll be an extra-long weekend with Monday being Presidents' Day.
How's your house hunt coming along? Made any offers yet?

But yes, I've been following that story, and am frankly surprised that the perpetrator and one of his accomplices managed to flee the country. So much for the efficiency of the much-vaunted Singapore police.![]()
We low-balled the first one. He was asking between 340-399K. Considering that he converted the 3rd bedroom into a media room, we'd have to spend $$$ to convert it back. (Reinstalling double doors to the room, and hacking the media shelves in what was the closet then reinstalling the closet doors.) He countered with a 385 offer and removed our contingencies. Oh well. The search goes on.Originally posted by littlestream:How come? The earlier offer fell apart?
how are they gonna protect when they have no insider reports of it?Originally posted by Rhonda:Actually, a few of our politicians have boasted over the news on TV that we're well-protected against terrorists, that we have a system to would deter terrorist attacks, yada-yada...
All well and good...
But then, they cannot protect ONE man from being shot by ONE gunman!![]()
So much for all that boasting!
OK, OK, so different sections are involved and all that... but see my point?
Huh?? *waves madly at littlestream!! Here!!Originally posted by littlestream:What happened to Rhonda?

All the tight checks at our entrypoints and all that... and a GUN slipped right through.

Is that how it was done? Send a gun in piece by piece, part by part?Originally posted by the Bear:take a gun into pieces..
send it in piece by piece...
we can only do so much...
again, tell me how... we really need ideas when we are doing all we can, others who are not around, do not know the limitations, "HOW CAN THIS? HOW CAN THAT?"
it's not constructive...
give us a suggestion...
nothing is fool-proofOriginally posted by Rhonda:Well, in the first place, how did a gun get into Singapore?

I thought they sneaked the entire gun in. And if so, it's appalling cause I thought all our luggages go through that X-ray machine so how could a gun sneak in that way.
Never thought that people would sneak it in piece by piece!
I'm viewing four this morning. One which we really like, enough to say, I'll take it!, just from the pictures alone. Homes here go really quick. I'm hoping I'm not too late. *fingers crossed*Originally posted by littlestream:Why kan cheong? For the realtor or the property?![]()
