At one stage, when mom was considering buying a darn expensive piece, I told her that the price of that can feed our entire family for MONTHS! Or, for that price, she can buy dozens of Swarovski crystal pieces or, buy almost the entire counter of costume jewellery at the dept store!
Anyways, Swarovski crystals are so brilliant these days, how many can really tell the difference and so what if they can?
I guess I can only buy authentic jewel pieces and not feel guilty about it if I know that I already have substantial savings in the bank. (OR, if my boyfriend / husband owns a million... or two... or three... ) -

Oh, stella, it was reeeeeeely funny just now when the salesperson tried soooo hard to get me interested in some machiam diamond jewellery! He started his sales pitch - "And this is our brilliant, perfect-cut diamond range..." looks up and sees that I'm totally unfazed, unmoving, uninterested... and gives up.
