Goes to show that alot of people think that they will do better overseasOriginally posted by Rhonda:I went to pay the deposit for my personal storage space today.
Whoa... didn't know that there was such a huge demand for storage space! The place was close to 100% capacity liao!
The man who assisted me in this transaction informed me that there are many Singaporeans who are venturing overseas to work these days, and that's why the demand for personal storage is so high!
Interesting... we're becoming more and more erm... 'cosmopolitan'!![]()
Actually, this time round, it isn't easy for me to pack at all compared to previous times cause this time, I keep reminding myself, ''Packing to leave the country liao... so don't keep thinking you'll actually NEED this and that!''Originally posted by elindra:Goes to show that alot of people think that they will do better overseas
I'm no Martha Stewart as well. Usually I wait till I can't stand the mess before I clean upOriginally posted by Rhonda:Actually, this time round, it isn't easy for me to pack at all compared to previous times cause this time, I keep reminding myself, ''Packing to leave the country liao... so don't keep thinking you'll actually NEED this and that!''
There's a finality to it all now.
OK, OK, got another more glaring reason... since the upgrading, so much dust was generated in the process that I kinda gave up doing major cleanups here and with the exception of sweeping and mopping the floor, everything else had been laid to waste. So now that I have to pack, it's sorting, cleaning all the dust up, and packing.

Ya and I love those new ones that can do carpet shampooing etcOriginally posted by Rhonda:Ah well, the modern lifestyle, I guess!
I've learnt though, that you really cannot do without a vacuum cleaner. They do a really thorough job of getting rid of all the dust, esp fine, powdery dust.
Oh yeah! Sounds so marvellous!Originally posted by elindra:Ya and I love those new ones that can do carpet shampooing etc![]()
I'm using a waterbased vaccum as well and it does trap dust way better than the conventional vacuum cleaners. So far I"ve only vaccumed the rug and not tried shampooing it yetOriginally posted by Rhonda:Oh yeah! Sounds so marvellous!Wonder how effective they are though. Tell us when you use it to clean your lovely plush white rug!
I like that OSIM vacuum cleaner that makes use of water. I think it ought to trap dust way better than the conventional vacuum cleaners.
Plus, remember reading the thread about Office Smog where it says how dust mites' eggs get trapped and broken down in vacuums, releasing what-not awful substances into the environment?I reckon that those water cleaners might eradicate that?
Hmmm... I've not owned rugs before and can't help wondering... and this is gonna be some mighty huge sua-ku question, ok.Originally posted by elindra:I'm using a waterbased vaccum as well and it does trap dust way better than the conventional vacuum cleaners. It will just end up slightly damp which you can air-dry easilyOriginally posted by Rhonda:Hmmm... I've not owned rugs before and can't help wondering... and this is gonna be some mighty huge sua-ku question, ok.![]()
And that is, after shampooing the rug, does it end up very wet or just moist?

Orh... Are there special detergents to use too so that it will smell nice as well?Originally posted by elindra:It will just end up slightly damp which you can air-dry easily
I'm using the one by VAX. I think they make pretty good vaccums although they don't look very pretty
