You got to see this to see how noisy rays can be.
Not my ray though
You would think that they are bottom feeders and it is ok not to cover the tankOriginally posted by the Bear:the desperation of the ray to get the shrimp is hilarious
Thanks littlestreamOriginally posted by littlestream:Hey elindra.........nice apartment you got there!!!Lovely!
Originally posted by elindra:You would think that they are bottom feeders and it is ok not to cover the tank
My rays have all tried jumping to catch the fish on top that they hit the lid of the tank
that's coz i don't display themOriginally posted by littlestream:But where are those fancy appliances? I didn't see them in the kitchen.
You will think I am sooooo CHEAP!!! I mean I like baking and making kueh, right? Up to now I still don't have a mixer. Saw this handheld ones. Really cheap. Like under C$10. But still contemplate/hesitate some more.
I went to the stores and now they have really nice fancy ones. Come in lime, red, blue, black and white. Toasters, deep fryers, mixers, blenders, kettles. Ahh, so tempting.![]()
They eat the shells sometimesOriginally posted by the Bear:but rays are messy eaters... they will suck out the insides and spit out the shells...
maybe you could try feeding them dead or shelled stuff
still thinking about the hamster in the office
Originally posted by elindra:They eat the shells sometimesThey don't spit out all. I feed them with the shells coz they get calcium from the shells.
I'll wait till they are bigger than I'll starve them to take dead food. Right now everything they eat is alive.
Btw are all frogs banned as pets or certain species are allowed
pacman frogs are scary. My friend used to have one before the banOriginally posted by the Bear:well, the food-type frogs are allowed.. i don't think pacman frogs are legal
check with the CITES site... as long as it's on either of the appendices, it'll be verboten
Originally posted by elindra:pacman frogs are scary. My friend used to have one before the ban
he gave it away coz he said it is eating him to the poorhouse
CITES site doesn't load properly most of the time
Can't be bothered to check
So as long as the frog is not protected under CITES it's ok?
Originally posted by the Bear:actually, thinking about it, gotta ask AVA... may be forbidden under the Wild Animals Act...
one of the stories i heard about the pacman frog was hilarious... dude wanted a poisonous salamander and had a lot of pacman frogs.. so he traded a whole lot of them for one poisonous salamander..
came back, happy, put it in the tank... pacman frog hopped over, no more pets left
Erhmm actually some of the pets banned are questionableOriginally posted by the Bear:well, some people don't know what they're dealing with
takes all kinds..
anyway, make sure you're legal with them pets.. the laws about them are there for a reason..
