plan, strategy, deliverables and bloody key challenges look almost the same, just used jargon which the senior management loves...
i actually whacked a lot of pointless and meaningless jargon together and threw it at the senior management before.. it was like throwing dice and attaching a meaningless phrase to each number... putting them all into a paragraph without grammatical errors and sending it to them...
no one could make heads or tails of the bloody thing... because it was nonsense...
guess what?
they loved it...
with that, i dunno whether to laugh or to cry... -

i've pissed off too many in senior management for me to make it up there
anyway, i like my work at my position.. we do a lot more useful work than creating pointless tasks for people to do...
sometimes i wonder why is it that there is so much management?
my lecturer once told me that the unreachable aim of the highest management is to make the organisation run so well that the management part is obsolete.. but in the meantime, it is the duty of the management to try.. -
maybe its becuz that in this world..there need be followers and leaders..

i suggest you read the book "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man"
he sold his soul and he knew it.. he was in anguish for a long time but he could not "change the way things are run" because once you lose your soul, the only way to redemption was to leave...
those who delude themselves into "going up and changing things from up there" find themselves trapped and doing the very things they despise.. and becoming the very things they rail against..
i've seen it first-hand... because one of the High Ones in my organisation thought he could.. now he's the biggest nuisance sprouting and worshipping all the BS that he once said he'd wipe out..

the speaker did point out one thing.... classes in our society are starting to reproduce themselves..
in the past, the child of an illiterate labourer has the chance of becoming president scholar.. today, it's almost impossible as the High Ones will push their progeny into the very "elite schools" they were from, and from there, will take over the jobs they are doing... ensuring the replication of the social class..
