Tong tong hee ? ADD ? You lost me there.Originally posted by jetta:Thanks for the empathy Ferrie. It's not that tough, for the most part. I count myself lucky because my kids are mild mannered and are even tempered. Not the tong tong hee sort. Or the ADD sort. Heng ah.
My hubby may be going to Afghanistan or Qatar for 6 months, which is why I'm exploring this option.

Hmm...So if they come back to school in SG for a year...they have to move back and continue again...next year ? Isnt this very tramautic for them ? Like they probably would have made good friends and got used to the culture and environment and suddenly, wham, they gotta go again ? Hmmm...And I apologise if i hit a sensitive issue here. You probably thought of this before.![]()

This semi nomadic military life is just so annoying. We were thinking, if the kids can hack it in the school there, we'll stay and retire there. I know that 1 year doesn't really give us much time to find that out. Going back to Sg is also a money saving measure for us. (Long story there). Hubby loves Singapore and lived there for 3 years. Many times he's said he wouldn't mind retiring there. I'm going to start his PR application today. My kids have spent alot of time in Sg. I used to take them back for long visits whenever I found cheap airfares.
I think so too. People may think we're crazy to choose life in Singapore over America but IMHO, it'll be better for all of us. Life here isn't cheap, no matter what others may think. Healthcare is expensive, dental too. The crime, the drugs and other nonsense...Originally posted by Ferret:*hUgGz*
1 year isnt that long but hey, it should be enough.
Anyway...Singapore is a great environment for studying and living. You have made the right choice by thinking of bringin your family over. Since costs of living isnt an issue, then by all means come back. PRATA EVERYDAY ????
But the main isue is this, you shouldnt worry too much about the kids. They'll adapt. Kids always do. Sometimes you gotta put yourself first. If you like this place, stay on
hey, you have a year to make the decision. Dont give yourself too much pressure yetOriginally posted by jetta:I think so too. We just have to make up our minds about what we want to do, where we want to retire. Call us crippled by indecision.

and jetta, you know the pros and cons already... just weigh them out, and see.. then take your husband's hand, take a deep breath and make that decision together
then go do it! and do it the best you can!

I cannot tell you how heavy this burden is weighing down on me. I'm thinking that I should make a trip back this summer and go ask questions personally. Can I do it all within a month?Originally posted by the Bear:c'mon.. cheer up
