We lost a whole batch of expensive IT equipment at my workplace and the cctv was pointing directly at the place they were stored!!! When we asked for cctv footage they said the same tape just keeps getting recorded over and over again so by the time we got to it the footage was already recorded over. When asked why the fuck they do that, we were told its expensive and troublesome to do it properly.

I see cctvs as more of an "after the fact" tool for investigators, rather than prevention. -
in terrorism, "after the fact" is way too late...

the fact that there are crimes, shows that CCTVs don't deter..
was talking to the senior management and a few semi-sentient lobotomised retarded chimps disguised as "security experts"
they seem to think that by throwing money at technology and installing more CCTV cameras without increasing the people monitoring or training more people to use the equipment is good enough...
when asked how much the "systems" were, i did a quick calculation for them.. it's much cheaper to hire a bunch of TRAINED and ARMED security people than it is to install some worthless but expensive high tech toys..
