Why not let Mother Nature do the work for you, then? Fill a spray bottle with diluted dishwashing detergent, park the car outside and spray it down with the detergent just before the skies open up. That's usually how I wash my year-round "winter beater." My summer car, however, gets the royal treatment with a hand wash and polish. -

yeah.. reached there at noon on sunday and left today at 2pm...
not too bad... considering, they gave us great rooms, meal vouchers, a 14-seater coach with personal tv screens each chair and movies to watch (like a business class type seat on airlines...

I love hand washing and polishing the cars and can spend hours on the task. -

Hmm... interesting. The owner's manuals for my two Nissans indicate that dishwashing detergent can be used. In any event, I'm not particularly worried about harming the finish on my "beater" vehicle, especially when rust is already eating up much of the finish. -

Me, I use any car wash liquid that's on sale. My fil gave me this car washing kit when I got my car. We used it once and it was okay IMO. The troublesome bit is having to buy refills.
