Are they really contributing to society on the whole? The illegals might be helping companies' bottom lines by being a source of cheap labor, but they are an incredible drain on government and society through their consumption of free public and welfare services that are ultimately paid for by taxpayers like you and I.Originally posted by jetta:That kills me you know. Perhaps I was viewing the city through the rose-coloured glasses of a tourist, but there was just so much more to see and do in the Puget Sound area than here in dreary Minnesota. What do I find appealing about Seattle that sets it apart from here?
1. Proximity to the ocean. I miss the sights, sounds and smells of living near the ocean.
2. The varied topography. Minnesota is essentially flat since it is mostly prairie country. The rolling coastal landscape and verdant vegetation of Puget Sound is breathtaking.
3. The abundance of Asian food. Can you say, "Uwajimaya?"
4. The relatively mild, maritime climate. Sure, it rains there a lot, but at least everything looks fresh and clean. AND IT DOESN'T SNOW!!!
5. No state income tax. -
