Between McPhee and Taylor, my vote goes to Taylor. He sings well, he injects soul into his music, he manages to get the audience groovin' to his songs week after week, and he's consistent. McPhee has good vocals too but if you noticed, when she overstretches it and goes for the high notes, she often falls short. Also, she's over-dramatic and it's tired hearing her sing all her songs with too much gusto! She's never sang songs 'tenderly' and certain songs you just NEED to sing it 'tenderly'. She sings every song like she's trying too hard to prove something... and haven't you heard her missing notes, not really hitting them?
We don't need YET ANOTHER Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson! Bleah! It's a formula that's getting old. Chris Daughtry would have been a great American Idol but siiiiiiigh, that's water under the bridge now, so my vote goes to Taylor. -

Taylor will make a great live act at beer gardens and cruise ships but he'll be an absolute flop as a recording artiste. McPhee can sing but she ain't flawless... but perhaps, you were too distracted by her two low-hanging fruits to even notice?
I still pine for Chris Daughtry! That was tragic, man! Really really tragic! Worse, his fans claimed that when they dialled his lines, they got a "Thank you for voting for me!" message for McPhee!! 
So, cause of some stupid logistical mistake, votes meant for Chris could have accidentally gone to McPhee instead.
Taylor is different, and a different good. We all express our emotions differently and well, Taylor has his weird jigs! But he's vibrant and you can tell he really loves his music. He will be good for Jazz and the Blues. Can do pretty good Rod Stewart-like songs too!
And he doesn't try too hard, like McPhee! I hate it when she goes for the high notes, and flounders. Hasn't anyone else noticed that flaw? She'll quickly cut short her note to try and 'hide' her shortcomings. -
the Taylor fella (the Jay Leno Jnr guy right?) will make a damned lousy recording artist.. because he's a pretty lousy singer... he can perform.. his "performance" hides his lousy voice...
the hobbit keeps allowing the orchestra to overwhelm him.. thing is.. it's not a very good orchestra.. he likes to choose songs which require a lot of skill and emotion.. both of which he lacks the ability to deliver..
the girl is basically a Mariah Carey wannabe.. indulges in vocal gymnastics no matter what she attempts to sing... but she's got a good voice.. needs to be told in harsh terms to shut the hell up sometimes.. less is sometimes more.. maybe she needs to learn not to be a robot.. hitting the notes and showing off range doesn't equate to good singing... i don't think she's even aware of any other methods and keeps resorting belting and screaming... -

Taylor - I cannot stand his singing. If I don't watch his performance, my ears just shuts him out
Elliot - Yes, I complained to SO why is he always singing so softly but he is a sweet guy, or at least he seems to me so I like him He does need lots of polish still
Kat - Mesmerising eyes. She has the voice but she lacks the control and needs more polishing too. -
I'm not going to watch AI again, after this season! It was extremely heartbreaking to see Mandisa and Chris leave! No more!!
