In a close vote, Abdul’s favorite finalist, Elliott Yamin — an “Idol” underdog and blue-eyed soul singer — was bounced off the Fox talent contest during Wednesday’s elimination show.

OK, McPhee and Taylor left which means McPhee wins. No need to watch liao. Just have to wait for her debut album.(depending on what guidance she is given, it will either be a huge hit or an absolute disaster) And Chris's too. Taylor can go take part in kareoke contests, sing at beer gardens and cruise ships.

McPhee is attractive only when she is not singing -
Kat has got the pipes. Good voice, good looks, almost complete package there. She can sing she just needs direction.
Taylor has got the personality, voice is decent , I can accept his style of singing, he's entertaining on the show. But in the real world he's not very commercial, and his antics wouldn't amuse for long.
I think Kat deserves to win. But I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor wins instead, he's got a powerful fan base that hasn't let him down yet throughout the competition.
Not to mention Elliot's fans may swing to Taylor, being of somewhat similiar style singer & music genre.
Either way the final turns out, I wouldn't be too disappointed... I think track record of past winners / runners-up have proven that the title is just that, a title - doesn't guarantee anything in the industry. It's been a good season, finale should be an entertaining show and am looking forward to it! -
Carrie Underwwod is a country singer. Kelly Clarkson does the pop/rock thing. How are they the same? Thet don't sound the same, they don't sing the same genre. McPhee can sing but she ain't flawless... but perhaps, you were too distracted by her two low-hanging fruits to even notice?
Taylor is different, and a different good. We all express our emotions differently and well, Taylor has his weird jigs! But he's vibrant and you can tell he really loves his music. He will be good for Jazz and the Blues. Can do pretty good Rod Stewart-like songs too!
And he doesn't try too hard, like McPhee! I hate it when she goes for the high notes, and flounders. Hasn't anyone else noticed that flaw?
She'll quickly cut short her note to try and 'hide' her shortcomings.
McPhee can sing, and thus has the potential to do well given the right coaching.
Taylor can't sing, and he's actually smart to do all the spastic tics to distract from his singing ability. I'd say by actually making it past the audition round he's stretched his potential beyond the breaking point already. He's nothing new btw. There's plenty of his wannabe type in kareoke lounges, beer gardens and cruise ships and other seedy joints all over the country. -

I thought it was extremely unprofessional of McPhee to sort of blame the record executive who chose her first song when she was criticised for not singing it well.

Female, young, pretty... and whether they can sing well or not is a matter of personal opinion.
I want to see someone different win for a change. Fantasia, although female and young, was not your 'typical' kinda idol.
And we know between Ruben and Clay Aiken, who's doing better in the real world!
I'd love to watch McPhee act in her first movie! But as for genre... she doesn't really 'own' a particular genre, don't you think? Which is quite disturbing for a singer. -

In terms of attitude on-screen, I think Taylor's got a better attitude than Mcphee. I can imagine Mcphee to be abit ... difficult.
Thus Taylor is so much more likeable , explains his fan base & the anti-Mcphee troupes on the internet.
Of course, keeping in mind what we see on tv is edited, scripted and amplified so may not be accurate reflection of the contestant's true character. -

Looking at the segment where the singers had a chance to interact with the record executive, I think the one who handled it best was Taylor. He said the right things. I guess he's experienced while McPhee's still young and a greenhorn in such matters. -

I still think Chris is out only because of a technical fuckup with the voting lines. He should be in the final, not Jay Leno's illegitimate son.

Chicken Little got a bit too big for his shoes when he dismissed Simon's criticisms.
And if you've noticed, McPhee's slowly letting out a defiant vibe when criticised by the judges too... a bit different from the beginning when she was still kinda sweetie-pie.
Paris was the one who seemed to always take criticisms very well.

McPhee has the looks of a Miss Universe
and she sings really well too...

don't ya'll think kat is kinda large?? she isn't exactly that attractive but she's considered one of the better looking ones already..
jasmine trias (season 3) & kellie pickler (season 5) are what i call good looking imo
carrie is in the same league as kat but somehow i prefer carrie.. -
usually, i try to listen to them only... and if found wanting, i would then have a look..
been looking at them a lot lately.. -
Now that we're down to the final two, one thing's for sure, it's going to be a helluva tough fight. Going by the percentages from last night's show, three of them had 33% of the pie. All separated by mere tenths!

He will probably be the least talented AI winner ever.
Will be a flop in the long run though.
I see good things ahead for Chris(provided he sticks to his rock/metal roots), and possible success for the likes of McPhee(provided she gets some good coaching and guidance). -
