Yeah, before my parents moved to Woodlands, we have always been under the East Coast GRC.
I dunno, maybe it's because familiarity but I still think that living in the East is the best -

I really love it at my old place at East Coast Road (Parents thinking of moving back)
I can walk to the beach, lots of food, pubs and resturants only no MRT which really, isn't a problem with the number of buses around
Now at Simei, it's nice too
Very convinient, 5 mins to MRT and quiet 
and lots of pet lovers around as well. -

Living in the East is good... Nearby wanna go vacation is easy -
ya its near the city, near the beach, near lots of great food places! If u need to go somewhere, lots of buses cos older estate and infrastructure already set up.
