I've heard the name James Gomez thrown around a couple of times but don't know who/what/when/where/why. About time the PAP has credible opposition. which is why they sent Lau Goh into Hougang and Potong Pasir to "persuade" the citizens there with the Party line of veiled threats and extortions.. any damned fool could see that Lau Goh was forcing himself to smile and he was uneasy doing all that..
it is a sad and sordid affair...
5 more years, and we'll see what happens.. maybe Lau Lee would kick the bucket by then, and we see the "Long" become a "chong" ?
Re: Dragon Prince. Aiyah. This was so obvious from the start. That Lau Goh was the benchwarmer. If what you say is true, I think their transparency in giving him the boot is just disgusting and ungrateful. Sounds so shady.
I hadn't realised that Chiam See Tong is in his 70s. Time flies! I still remember the day he captured Potong Pasir. -

the last GE was a touch and go thing.. with around 800 votes difference... that was because the *$&# Chee Soon Juan stabbed Chaim in the back and threw him out of the very party he founded..
this time, the people (i am so proud of the singaporeans! ) saw the SDP for the clowns they are and gave them a pathetic number of votes, humiliating the morons...
Gomez... the last GE, he was "late" and "filled in his application forms wrongly" and was DQ'ed along with his whole team..
this time, he blatantly lied about an application for a certificate which he was seen pocketing.. he then lied and threatened the elections department staff about it...
we all think he's a plant to discredit the WP... i mean, twice in 2 GEs?
but he's shady as heck.. i think LTK will throw him out of the party... he was stopped from leaving singapore a day after the GE attempting to fly out of the country!

i think the powers are going to get him with lying to a civil servant on duty, and also threatening a civil servant on duty.. both are punishable with imprisonment...

Re: LTK. So it's only a matter of time, if he can find people as credible and apparently transparent as himself, for the PAP to follow instead of lead. How old/young is he? What's his background like? -
because a lot of people think that the PAP is cynical enough to do this.. we also think that CSJ was a plant and a mole to destroy Chiam's SDP (which he did)
besides, everyone i talked to is angered by the Dragon Prince saying on national tv that if more opposition members got into parliament, he'll spend more time "fixing the opposition" than running the country...

LTK is, i think, around 40-ish... an unassuming man who has stated that he is not there to become the gabrament.. rather, he would play the role of keeping the gabrament on its toes and keeping them honest...
he has spoken eloquently about the problems of the disenfranchised, those who are left behind, and also about the aspirations of a normal citizen.. and more, he has done things quietly and unassumingly for his constituency... he is a well-liked person for that and well respected..
i would think his party, if run properly and kept free of idiots like Gomez, would become a credible opposition to have around -
