  the work we do is good.. however, it's the people we come into contact with.. and the sheer workload of the places where they put temps... that's like.. where our own officers are place to be "blooded"

  Thanks. I was going to make an unexpected visit but it's too late now so I'll have to go via the embassy route.

  blame the US..
  
  they are forcing everyone who has visa-free status to come up with the passports with bio-whatever the heck computer chip embedded inside...
  
  we're probably one of the first to launch it. it'll be ready in august or something for distribution to everyone... and yes, it'll be only a 5 year validity...
  
  to ensure that everyone gets one by the cut-off date, we started issuing everyone with a 5 year validity for quite some time already..
  
  sometimes, the paranoia of a country affects everyone else...
