don't you guys have to account for the tools or something like that???Originally posted by laurence82:air force always get better stuff leh
we got those spanners, made in chinaor made in taiwan, breaks easily
it was so bad, the regular get their own toolboxes
maybe you're not using singlish so the rest don't understandOriginally posted by the Bear:just wondering... how come when i talk about the arts, people talk about money and their school results?
it's in the other topic...
i find that kinda disturbing
how is this for quality?Originally posted by elindra:When it comes to reports, it's quality and not quantity.
I mean for exams, I marvel the fact that people have so much to write and I always finish early
I guess that's because they talk in circles?

we doOriginally posted by kopiosatu:don't you guys have to account for the tools or something like that???
here everything is provided, because everything has to be accounted for. but the tools are damn good la. when i go service my bike, i see the mechanics with the tools lying around, i think about my own workplace its so much more different.
but the bad thing is, if we go for detachment, the tools follow and the home base will have lack of resources.
Problem with creativity is, you can nuture it, through the environment and other factors but it cannot be taught or enforced. Most of these so-called creativity classes just teach "creativity" using fixed tools or forumlae. Its like the "entreprenuership" programmes where everyone ends up setting up a store to sell off the shelf products. Might as well call it "pasar malam"Originally posted by laurence82:schools nowadays are miserable monuments to an antiquated education system, no matter how many 'creative classes' they come up with
wah lao, army provide lousy tools ah. how come no one said anything?Originally posted by laurence82:we do
for those regulars, it means taking the army-supplied tools and stash them somewhere, not to be used, and they use their own personal tools
seriously, spanners which break off easily are dangers, and rachets which broke easily bring more expletives than repairs
and we are a base, so more often, we bring resources to units

so the army get their people killed and somebody's pocket gets heavierOriginally posted by the Bear:dragonskin...
if a GI was found wearing it, and gets killed in the line of duty, they will not be given the usual insurance...
the army flakjacket works... BUT there are too many which are faulty... lousy QC.. which makes the GIs nervous and they bought the Dragonskin flakjacket...
however, that makes the army look bad and also, i think the contract for the army flakjacket is owned by a lobbyist...
so the Dragonskin armour is "banned" by the army now...
Yeah, they messed around with the testing results for Dragonskin too. Funny thing is, many Generals were seen wearing Dragonskin in Iraq. When asked, they claimed to be doing their own "field testing". Fuckers, if I wanted to field test armour, I'd give it to the ones actually getting shot at all the time!Originally posted by the Bear:dragonskin...
