here everything is provided, because everything has to be accounted for. but the tools are damn good la. when i go service my bike, i see the mechanics with the tools lying around, i think about my own workplace its so much more different.
but the bad thing is, if we go for detachment, the tools follow and the home base will have lack of resources. -

we had a project due 5pm the next day, and six of us (we called ourselves the Wudang guys), were checking thru every inch of the report, and when tired, simply went out for supper at Mohd Sultan, and then came back to finish up. of we find any stuff we wrote not good, we re-did
when we finished and submitted, it was 11pm and the security guards were amazed to see us walking in at 11pm, slot it into the box
the six gals (we call them the Emei nuns) finished the report early, like three days earlier)
guess what? we got an A and the gals got a C
hee hee, i guess quality really counts -

Problem with creativity is, you can nuture it, through the environment and other factors but it cannot be taught or enforced. Most of these so-called creativity classes just teach "creativity" using fixed tools or forumlae. Its like the "entreprenuership" programmes where everyone ends up setting up a store to sell off the shelf products. we told those ASSS, i mean the S1, S3, CO that we rather the money that go into events like unit dinners, Pride Day and whatnot go into the budget meant for tools so that we can have better tools
yeah, where else got such dedicated people asking their bosses to give them better tools to do their work, instead of ci he wan le in some events?
and their answer was? they cant, coz the budget already approportioned...
we were like 'huh?' -
*sigh* Damned bean counters are the same everywhere. The US forces in Iraq, many actually buy some of their own equipment using their own money , because the issued ones are either crap, or worse, not available due to shortages.

the army flakjacket works... BUT there are too many which are faulty... lousy QC.. which makes the GIs nervous and they bought the Dragonskin flakjacket...
however, that makes the army look bad and also, i think the contract for the army flakjacket is owned by a lobbyist...

Yeah, they messed around with the testing results for Dragonskin too. Funny thing is, many Generals were seen wearing Dragonskin in Iraq. When asked, they claimed to be doing their own "field testing".
