  In Cantonese cuisine, the mantis shrimp is a popular dish known as "pissing shrimp" due to its tendency to urinate when cooked. Because of this, mantis shrimp are speared to induce them to evacuate their bowels prior to being introduced into the cookpot. After cooking, their flesh is closer to that of lobsters than that of shrimp, and like lobsters, their shells are quite hard and require some pressure to crack.

  mantis shrimps are dangerous also ....
  
  i always warn new divers not to try and catch them or kachiau them in the water ....
  
  those mantis claws can puncture fingers and nails easily ! ...

  I didn't know that but I would say they taste like a odd blend of lobster and shrimp with a bit of squid in them

  Have you been to Ikoi at Miramar Hotel? Not bad for a Weekday dinner, at least it's not so crowded.

  I think there is a Sakura at Somerset
  I don't really like the stuff at Sakura but it's the easiest on the pocket

  Baby Octopus in Soju (Korea): You are given a bowl of live baby octopuses and a plate which is covered in soju (Korean alcohol). You pick one octopus up and wipe it in the soju which puts it to sleep and then eat it. More fun near the end of the meal when there is less soju on the plate or the octopus doesn't go asleep and starts to fight as you're eating it.

  Btw do you know there is this shop in JB that sells live iguana and monitor lizard.
  
  You go in select the lizard you one and the guy will kill and skin it for you, chop it up and hand it to you in a plastic bag so you can bring it home to cook
  
  SO loves to eat monitor lizard. He said he used to catch them wild when he was younger and staying in the Yishun Sembawang area. He was describing to me his monitor lizard trap but I can't remember
  
  I like snow frog jelly and cordyceps cured me of my bronchitis...I consumed lots of cordyceps when I was a little girl. I still like the taste

  I had some weird awful chinese medicine when I was young before
  Had this weird rash in the past and was made to take this vile concoction to cleanse my blood
  It has this stuff that looks suspiciously like giant larva carapace in it
