Sometimes I think there is a conspiracy behind it all
He is planted and paid by the PAP to be in the opposition party
I mean think about it...with all the lawsuits and stuff he has to pay for
He should be bankrupt so many times over that he just disappear from the face of the earth
But he is like one happy flying cockroach that no amount of pesticide can get rid off -

But there were some poor bastards who were practically half-crippled (cannot stand straight, head bent at funny angle, weird walking posture, some had fits etc) forced to serve NS as clerks. yeah.. notice my total indifference to needles and good sense
i was a combat medic... now downgraded to heck, i'm still a combat medic... in a combat vocation, in a combat unit, but nowhere near medically combat fit -

I remember this clerk who's hated by everyone ....
he was an athelete from RJC, but he's downgraded because of leg injuries, yet at the same time, he was getting time offs for "track and field training" !!!! .....

I still maintain my stand ... that one's attitude towards NS is a great reflection of one's character and one's attitude towards work in the future ... -

we had one guy in one unit get downgraded but to his horror they kept him in the same unit with the same combat vocation

back in my active unit, which was in 1990, there were two clerks in my unit out of a pile of them...
one of them was a buddy-builder, the other was a rugby player... both represented SAF...

My brother was a storekeeper.
He has a medical condition but is actually certified normal after corrective surgery
But he is super chao keng and doesn't have to do range firing etc coz he asked his sarge if the recoil will hit his wired stainless steel ribs loose not to mention other tedious training stuff which he is exempted from
In fact he put on SO MUCH WEIGHT during NS that I asked what the heck does he do there
Then there is my SO who has a real problem....torn lingament in the knee cap and is always super gungho -
