how were u treated when u were a kid?
i rmb that i always used to overeat and ended up vomitting everything out, either that or i was so greedy that i always ordered more den i can finish..
other disciplinary stuff, the cane wad used.. till i threw away the cane, but it only brought more anger to my mum..

Heheh the lady with the two kids on the plane, is one of those "soft method" moms. She kept reasoning with her girl who's like 4 .
The funniest part was at one point she said aloud -
"OK I give up. they can take you away and I'm not going to care. I don't even care if everyone around here hates me !! "

The stupid mother I ran into was totally on her little girl's side. Although, at no time did I scold or even glare at the kid. The bus was damned crowded somemore. Everyone was staring at this guy(me) yelling at this big fat angry-faced ang moh woman.

And yes I starved him when he got picky or naughty

After one punishment, he never does it again -

My chinchilla gets away with being picky, which is why I rotate her snacks.

I treat dogs like a small kid
I think they act like one

More often than not it is the teachers and principals who get punished. Some of these cases even make it to the PAP times. -

Actually by the time you need to use corporal punishment on kids.. .. it is already.. very late down the road for discipline already.
I've had the opportunity to work with kids of a range of ages.... but the ones I had the most problems with were from broken families, families with a lot of issues, and families that don't care enough. It is very apparent where the problem lies. Never with the kid - almost ALWAYS with the parents. It doesn't matter if the kids came from rich or poor background BUT if there is at least ONE parent who shows a lot of love (in the correct manner), the child CAN learn discipline in a short amount of time even if they didnt have it before.
As far as I see it, losing temper with children is the worst form of discipline any adult can give. I am not talking about a cane to the palm of the hand, or a smack to the buttock as a CALM punishment to something naughty.
BUT If a mother gives a slap to the face of a child who gives her lip because she LOST her temper, she deserves her punishment. -
