Hmmm.... the impression I got on my most recent visit to Singapore was that the economy there was doing exceptionally well. Everyone seemed to be rolling in cash (I don't think I've seen so many BMWs on the road!), and I don't think too many people would complain at a reasonable fee/cost/tax hike.
Or am I mistaken?
