Talking about credit cards, I mailed the payment for my October Citibank MasterCard bill late (due to my having been away in Singapore), and it got to them two days past the due date. Just got the most recent bill and saw they had slapped on a US$39 'late fee' and assessed financial charges at a usurious 19.9% on the bill's original US$19.95 balance. I was livid, and called their customer service number and told them I'd pay their criminal charges, but would cancel the card once I've zeroed the balance. For whatever reason, the lady was profusely apologetic about the late fee and finance charge, and reversed them. She then proceeded to give me a US$10 'loyalty credit' on my account.
Now that's customer service!
