I went shopping for a desktop the past three days and I must say that I'm still going to wait for Christmas sales. I think PC's are dearer here than back in SG.

btw, if you want a desktop, start doing your research.. i mean.. RESEARCH!!
go figure out what motherboards go with which chip to get the best out of each other, and if you are going the dual-core or soon, quad-core chips from intel..
but the value for brute speed and money is still with the AMD chips...
then you have to see which motherboard goes with the AMD chips..
check out the price of RAM.. vista seems to eat resources like crazy... so you'll probably end up needing about 2GB RAM..
then you need to look for a fast video card.. check to see that there's a minimum of 128MB RAM, but it's best to go full-on since vista is a resource glutton.. go with 512MB...
uhh.. the rest.. get the plain vanilla stuff.. -
