i think i'll ask for a few days off this and next week if i can deliver the paper which is refusing to be written.. i can't BS that much...
having problems with a printer too.. the idiots want a couple thousand bucks for ONE A1-sized print, saying they do not have the softcopy of a job they did for us years ago.. i would think they never purge their old jobs in case their clients want a reprint?
anyway, for a couple thousand bucks, no way am i going to give in to them.. i'll go look for any softcopy we have, or maybe use the old A3-sized one and get some printer to blow it up for us to A1 size...
no matter what, can't be thousands of dollars for ONE bloody poster! -

the world is near the point of no return in terms of global warming and population.. yet many still cling on to the flaw economics which a lot of economists in the past labelled "voodoo economics"
(strange how these economists were shouted down and muscled out by those whose career was made supporting all-out capitalism.. )
do we want to go on?
remember.. these "replacement youth" become the next generation of "greying population"
what then? we increase the population in singapore to 8 million? then 10 million?
there is a plateau, a limit where we can go to before a great dying out... already it has happened to a few civilisations, a couple of S American ancient civilisations were thought to have died out because of overpopulation.. the Easter Island civilisation died out this way..
now, with the advent of global travel and movement of populations, the dying out will be global...
already, the Stern Report warns of such things, and Kofi Adnan is scared enough to rail at the world for having a "frightening lack of leadership" in this matter...
if Singapore refuses to start living up to its responsibilities, by going "we're so small... blah blah" our gabrament would be guilty of the hypocrisy (i know.. it is their natural state of being anyway) when they tell us to go do what we can..
here, we have to do what we can.. increasing the population is not going to solve any problems.. it's going to increase and exacerbate the problem for our future generations..

maybe people have become detached and have lost their humanity... you sound like it.. seriously...
for the sake of the economy and for the sake of what is not really important, we throw away our very humanity and become tools for numbers?
it should be the other way around?
are you happy being a termite, being a number, a faceless, nameless and expendable number to be sacrificed on the altar of a false god called Economics?
or has the cost of a human life become so worthless, and that false god so powerful that we must not oppose it and cast ourselves to it, without resistance?
