here's something people never seem to understand.. high capacity engine may not equal to high fuel consumption...
but that being said, the toyota engines are very efficient...
however, high capacity engines do not equate to speeding.. it's the getting up hills when the car is fully laden, the torque, the power-to-weight ratio and all that, which you must look at...
my car can't out-accelerate a car with a bigger engine but it will maintain the same cruising speed..

not all.. my friend's old 3.3 litre Holden was less thirsty than his old 2.4 litre Datsun Skyline...
anyway, go do your sums right.. factor in fuel consumption, the cost of fuel, how much you drive, the cost of the car, the payment of the loan, the interest cost.. all that.. i had several headaches doing the sums for my car..
