I have a WoW nut of a friend too ... but he says he plays only on the weekends cos his account doesn't allow him to log on during the weekdays ....

and because of the little extra bonus i've dedicated a little bit more money to the trip~ -
some of the little bit extra has gone to the Church building fund and next weekend, an extra will go to the St Vincent de Paul's society in the Church which helps the poor
i'm stuck in singapore until the bloody project is done...
after that, i'll be stuck in singapore until they finish haggling in parliament.. by that time it'll be middle of march

on the subject of pay rise for civil serpents...the timing really quite jialat:
1. public transport fare hikes announced
the Wee Incident, MRT suicides etc 
2. gst hike announced
3. civil servants to get pay rise? wtf?
must be some ministers and mps kow peh to mee siam mai hum that they now need need to pay more for their luxury items, so they need a raise to cover the gst hike. -
with the civil service being the biggest employer in Singapore, perhaps they were hopping for some sort of multiplier effect .... -
we have to try to tell people to learn to differentiate between the working hacks of the civil service, the MPs, and their cronies who are on the gravy train in high places...
and get off the backs of the working hacks... -

time to go for lunch -
u noe, i still think the education system is nuts, and they can change as many times as they want
already we have problems with the syllabus, where it still focus on rote learning, and PW assessed by narrow minded teachers who wont go for anything brilliant and useful
then somebody else tell me how his sch force them to take six subjects in total for A levels
i know from last time we can take three main subjects, and one GP one Mother Tongue subject, for those who couldnt handle four main subjects
this is crazy

were you still in swiss when they introduced that stupid creative thinking thing called CORTS or something ? ....
that was supposed to cultivate creative thinking, but what ended up happening was that the teacher (I shan't mention names here, but it's AV's favourite guy) ended up making the class memorize the steps through the model ....
an MOE chap came along at the end of the pilot program and was very impressed by our familiarity with the model ... and I guess everyone got off it with a nice pat on their backs ... -
