Either the stepfamily becomes too affluent or I am stuck in the rut because I am a guest.
They bring me to shopping malls, expecting me to patronised those expensive hair salons and shopping counters????!!!
People comes here to experience the kampong laidback lifestyle, I sort of seem to be swimming in Singapore style commercialisation.
The carparks at the shopping mall is packed full of huge jacked-up twin cab pick-ups or SUVs & expensive cars.
Then you see angmohs riding scooters but does not know how to put those scoots on their sidestands at the roadside!!!!
The stepfamily somehow refuses me to ride motorcycles for safety reasons, looking at how dangerous most of them riders are, and most of them is unlicensed. They hit, they run. Even today, we saw a roughly7 year old boy riding a scooter, w/o helmet, gloves or even a proper pair of shoes!
Then they dont allow me to eat at roadside stalls, unless they have investigated and know that its a reputable clean food stall. Sigh....we usually ate at restaurants or foodcourt. Somehow, I dont find that as reassuring cos we cant see how they prepare the food!
Please! Someone save me!!! Someone come to Phuket pls! Give me the excuse to be out of their clutches!!! I am sob sob sob 33 years old liao, still living life like a teenager. sob sob sob.... -

At the shopping mall, while waiting for the stepfamily. I was approached by a angmoh lady. She spoke to me with one word: 'kopi?' and using her hands to signal drinking.
I laughed and replied her in english that I am also a traveller. She called out to her hubby, which I believe that they are germans.
Told her to go upstairs to the foodcourt.
I must have looked Thai, with my tanned skin.
Overhere, there seems to have an obsession to be fairskin....I am naturally fair and the suntanning I did was a sign of privilege....over here though....I am considered Thai.

There was a blackout last nite till this morning.
I was lucky because I was sleeping behind with a mosquito net over me, not in the aircon room. And it was a fairly cool nite.
Woke up, showered and we went out to have breakfast in Phuket Town after some folks came to fix the electricity. I had Kway Teow Soup with lots of Tau Gey and meatballs.
Then we drop the hlaf sister at her computer school. Me and stepmother then try to go the their regular money changer but they are closed.
So we instead went to a beauty salon. I had my nails done and even a facial. A harrowing experience, since I dont speak thai. Asked for my eyebrows to be plucked, but instead the beautician shaved them. They look lovely though....the skin also felt very comfy and smooth after the session. How to ask them whether they wax armpit hair???
Then its to pick up little sis and proceeded to lunch at another small local shop. It was Bee Hoon soup with some sliced fish cakes. 1st time in days where I wasnt overfed! I tried to emulate the locals to snack on the onion stalks and whole fresh shallots. Manzz.....the kicks really bring tears to my eyes!
The coconut juice was refreshing.....and taste a bit of mint. Really GOOD! -

Hmmm...the colours seem to be a bit wrong.
By right, my nails are done in a chocolate brown colour with a slash across the nails as decoration.

Papa had to call from Bangkok today to ask me whether I have any food restriction like cannot take beef or something. I told him no. (Actually I should...but in times like this! heck care lah!) I think they bringing me to eat steak tonight.
