one of my colleagues was recounting what happened to her mother..
her mother slipped and fell.. she was very unwell and kept throwing up (that's the first sign that there is some internal injury)
they took her to the A&E and after waiting for hours, the doc there took about a 5 second look at her and said that she was okay and told her to go home..
they persisted and after a lot of arguing and threats, the old lady was admitted for observation.. they didn't observe her much according to the old lady.. the next day, they wanted to discharge her..
by that time, she could barely move.. more threats by the family and there was a scan done.. there was a crack in her skull...
how the hell did they miss that??
she was too old and fragile for an operation.. so they thought, she has to be in the hospital to heal up just in case anything happens.. it is a fractured skull and could be bad.. but the hospital wanted to discharge her and put her in some nursing home.. they didn't want to.. after a lot of anger and threats, it came out.. the old lady would be subsidised in the hospital.. in the nursing home, she would be a full-fee paying patient...

hospitals probably hope their patients(the poorer ones) die faster these days so that they can free up the beds for medical tourists who pay in full. -

I wonder by how much the ministers going to raise their own salaries from the already obscene amount they are receiving. 10%? 20%? 25%? 50% Anything is possible I guess.
I'm thinking civil servants will get..*drum roll*..2% -
i think it'll be a small percentage to show the public but they will pay themselves enormous bonuses...
it's to "keep the wages flexible" and all that BS which they have been sprouting
in the meantime, the average civil serpent working hack will get all the hostility from the public.. -
After all these years I still cannot understand.
Why are they benchmarking their salaries to that of the top people in completely unrelated fields? If they want that kind of money then don't go into politics lah. I thought ministers were supposed to serve the people. -

Actually I kinda pity Lau Goh
He did so much for the country and now is thrown the shitty work like giving bad news and being shot down everytime by the tag team.
He really has fallen from grace
At least when he was PM, he really did alot of things for the people -
i think in the end, he was betrayed by the very people he tried to elevate...

Hog's Breath...well, if you're up to it we only need 2 more right?
I need to go find out more details. $100 for failing the challenge like maciam too cheap leh. 4 1kg steaks plus sides ok. Unless they mean pay for the steaks AND an extra $100 for charity.......
