The older steersman made me wear them everytime I want to walk outside the cabin for the fresh air. They are realy nice old daddies kinda lah. So I obliged when they are looking lah.
Its safe lah, just that at night, always better to tell the folks to watch out for you just in case you really plonked into the waters. Our uniforms all dark, long sleeve and no reflective buttons lah. Wont be able to see you at night when you merged into the waters. -
if i end up being certified, which will probably be never, i'd get one of these..

Actually, there is a way to get around it. For you, you can put on and take off your gear on the water surface is instead of the normal way. The tank and stuff will feel weightless underwater. P.S. this works only if you're actually able to swim/thread water -
bugger it.. instead of that little scooter, why not go the whole hog?
or if there's a Mrs Bear involved, the 2-seater
