there is very little i can do to change my resume....
example:
Position 1: Admin Assistant
Things to highlight: Skills with computer, typing speed, how many pple in dept served, any other job scope that highlights the person's efficiency
Position 2: Office Assistant
Things to highlight: Organisation skills, what have you done to improve office
Position 3: Secretary (junior)
Things to highlight: Inter-personal skills, resourcefulness, number of bosses served (local/non-local)
for the above 3 positions, they look almost the same and can be filled by the same person. however if the resume does not highlight the skills required for the position, the makes the resume "normal". wat you wan is EXTRAORDINARY.
also highlighting everything so you dun have to change it for different jobs does not work. it just tells the employer "watever, here is my common resume, i can't be bothered to cater to your requirements". a good employer would not take such a candidate -
well, sometimes i wonder myself...
one asswipe who weaseled out of the organisation into another, has a MBA... but he's totally useless, and causes more problems with his ability to sprout BS and write totally pointless papers which if you bothered to read, will tell you that it's useless and will tie up our resources for long periods of time without any results..
however, Big Bosses who are blinded by con-men-sultants and are not street-smart will love him.. so he was promoted very quickly..
the current no.1 came from operations.. he doesn't care about the nonsense these charlatans put out.. they have been leaving this place like rats
i dunno what the HR people are looking for sometimes..

Besides being an education hellhole, every company looks at degree first..you might get some compromise on that in sg, but not in korea
Not to mention only like like 10% or so of Korea's population can get into the the top universities in Seoul, and companies gun for these graduates first
And them being an education hellhole because they learn theories, lots of them, more than us.. -

besides, truthfully, so many darn jobs scope they listed are so ambiguous and broad
its not even as near specific as those you listed

So nowadays, I just wear really simply gold ear studs. Cheapest at $38/- for a pair. I try to go for those screw on types but they are hard to find. But strangely, the 2 pairs of earrings I have now, is quite lasting.
Maybe because I dont take them out or am wearing riding helemts a lot.
For silver, I prefer to go to Noveulle at Bugis Junction. opposite GoldHeart Jewellery. reall cheap and their services is fantastic.
Their engravings are good too. And they are cheap. Better then perllinis. -

HR or Training should have figured them out.. 1 month worth of training..

Well, we have similar complaints from Training to Recruitment or at least to me as Manpower.
Turns outs, most of the recruits just cannot make it during training.
We got gals whinning about twisted wrist but cannot supply medical certs.
Or gals who bursts into tears halfway, saying the female instructor was picking on them because they were wearing brightly coloured bikini bras under their translucent white polo tees.
And most times, more of them who actually finished their training, and left immediately after one or 2 days, they complain its because they are new and they find some stuffs some of the seniors did as offensive.
The newbies just has no one else to turn to to ask, or support or simply to encourage them. So they Left!
I keep trying to start up a counselling trauma team that is not under the various divisions but directly under HQ so we can help to mediate or bridge the differences between the older experiences folks to the younger newbies.
Or in some way, offer listening ears to those who might need someone other then their superiors knows their troubles.
And to be the presence every divisions needed so as the older experienced ones wont push the responsbilities to HQ when HQ has no idea what it was about. -

i find that those who entrench themselves in the HQ have no idea what is going on in operations
and when they are told by people who were from operations like me, they either become very shocked and denial sets in, or they start to hate me for wrecking their rose-tinted view and then denial sets in -
the evil of laurence will make him a great banker..
