And squeezing in between cars and lanes. I never liked that unless its warm and sunny and the road is dry.Originally posted by the Bear:riding too fast on a small bike without the strength to manhandle the bike out of the way.. then skidding on a wet road and unable to pull the bike out of the skid..
basically panicking, then the tailwhip causing them to be totally out of control...
another thing.. it was raining, those taking cover under the bridge were riders of BIG bikes.. those still speeding like lunatics were maniacs on the little plastic bikes (mostly malaysian bikes)

Common. My friend's brother n gf was killed in motorbike accident tooOriginally posted by laurence82:i fear for motorcyclists
one friend's cousin died in an accident, resulting in a ban on motorbike riding throughout the family
someone from my sch died in an accident just outside the sch, she was riding a bike
the army had so many accidents with bikes they had to send these chaps for defensive riding![]()
Thats usually the case, he knows he is in the wrong and is worried about you claiming against him.Originally posted by the Bear:i was more worried for the motorcyclist who fell off his bike.. i wanted to bring him to the hospital but he was more concerned about my car...
i actually told him "screw the car.. ARE YOU ALL RIGHT??" but he kept babbling about the car...
finally told him to forget about whatever and was he okay.. any broken bones, anything? wanted to bring him to a hospital for a checkup.. but he insisted he was okay and rode off..

SO's friend is paralysed waist down and needs to breathe thru a breathing tube from a motobike accident too. He keeps saying he is better off dead and he is the sole breadwinner too![]()

Nesides compensation issues, he also may have to pay traffic fines and demerit points. So likely he wont want to incurr more costs.
And no..not recommended for you to transport him to hospital. Liability issues.
Careless driving to dangerous/reckless driving. Driving explains the same to riding.Originally posted by the Bear:just asking.. isn't weaving between cars against the law or something?
anyway, i have this sudden craving for crab
The accident regarding my friend's brother is kinda hazyOriginally posted by viciouskitty74:Sometimes, accidents arent truly the faults of motorcyclist.
I've known of riders, innocently waiting for their green lights at junction and gets runs down by speeding cars dashing the red lights.
I still has not forgetten how my hit and run driver looks like. Nor his female passenger.
May they know karma.
No. I a not asking you to be cold hearted. Just to understand that the other person might be imagining other things.Originally posted by the Bear:forget about the liability... the need of an injured person is much more important than liability or whatever..
i guess i'm like that.. use things, love people, never the other way around
with an attitude like that, i'm usually screwed

Riding in between lanes/sharing lanes arent. Which one you are actually thinking of?
Yes, my ex tells me a lot of those near misses also. Somehow, because its inside the compund, drivers thinks that traffic rules dont apply there cos its a special place. they must have thought that human there has green color blood. And the police are powerless to penalise these people because CAAS will raise up a stink over pressures from the contractors.Originally posted by elindra:The accident regarding my friend's brother is kinda hazy
But SO's friend was run down by a speading pick up
You know the hanger area there always alot of heavy vehicles. Very accident prone area too.
You know what I hate are those fucking bastard type of drivers who take their own sweet time driving but when you cross the road, they press on their accelerator![]()

And you sending him to hospital, he would need to go thru much hassle, from getting someone to remove his bike to maybe checking on his licence.
Some folks dont have licence to ride you know?
And you mention some scratches? Maybe not that he hit you. he self skidded and then he hit you.
For that, no. Its not against the law unless he was riding in a intention to weave in and out for fun & speeding.Originally posted by the Bear:i'm driving on the expressway and almost invariably, a motorcyclist will pass me on my left side in between 2 lanes...
i'll not be able to see him because its a blind spot..
he cuts in between myself and the cars on the left and then goes into a lane, then in between 2 cars again to get further up the heavy traffic..
Because we are a materialistic lot?Originally posted by the Bear:probably.. why would they be riding so fast on a wet road is beyond me..
still, i'm trying to make sure the fella is okay..
actually, i was very surprised that a lot of people ask me about my car instead of if the guy was hurt..

Same as collegues, they always seems to find it in them to always complain about how traffic police mistreat them.
But they are always very happy to know that cyclist arent suppose to be riding on pavements or riding acorss a zebra crossing.
Cyclist are suppose to step off their bikes to cross any crossing or zebra crossing to qualify them as pedestrain. Otherwise, its actually okay to run them down as motorist!
Got one ex collegue who later announce to me: "So! Next time! If a cyclist dares to shout at me for not letting him cross the zebra crossing on his bicycle, I can shout that fella back and runs him down and claim against him for damages to my car!"
