OMG that is so mean of them and totally insensitive!!Originally posted by fudgester:After my A Levels (prior to enlistment), I worked at a 7 Eleven outlet.
One day, while I was working there, several girls from a nearby convent school started laughing and poking fun of my low-pitch, mixed accent voice when I told them how much their Slurpees cost.
They don't know how much it hurt me when they laughed at me... it brought back bad memories of secondary school when many of my classmates (childishly) hated me because of my accent.![]()
Yes, i agree with your SO's theory.Originally posted by elindra:My SO's theory is that after a tradegy like a bomb tragedy it is the best time to go coz everyone will cancel their bookings and things will be dirt cheap
His line of reasoning is that it is highly unlikely that there will be another bombing right after because everyone has been scared away anyway.
He went to Bali right after the Bali bombings![]()
Originally posted by Wanda:Yes, i agree with your SO's theory.Shd have gone to Bali imediately but no, had to go in Oct 2005 and then Bali was bombed on our 2nd day there, just a street away.
erhm i think their director gets this kind of emails everyday......Originally posted by Wanda:Thanks. I was thinking of director, but it would be very silly if they ever let this matter go up to that level.
Yes, the press!Originally posted by elindra:Ah k
Just make more noise and if nothing happens threaten to go to the press
It helps alot
Singnet hates dramas like these
My dad got away with buying a handphone at $200 bucks less coz they put up the wrong price tag
He was like WHAT!!! HOW CAN YOU CHEAT CUSTOMERS and was shushed up and pulled aside and got it at the lower price![]()
Well, the next convent girl in line saw everything and apologised to me on their behalf after they had all left. In all honesty, if she hadn't done that, I would have shot a letter full of my trademark Fudgester's Tirade to their school discipline mistress.Originally posted by elindra:OMG that is so mean of them and totally insensitive!!
YeahOriginally posted by Wanda:Yes, the press!
But it's true, their misrepresentation IS cheating. I would pay if it was my genuine mistake, but I really din know better, and did what their staff said.
you know the sad thing abt the misterpresentation? a lot of times it is not the fault of the Customer Service Officers. They get emails about the promotions, etc and these emails r often not clear or wrong or late. Customers expect them to know everything not realising these poor pple they are screaming at r also victims.Originally posted by Wanda:Yes, the press!

Hey at least the 2 of you are ok
Originally posted by Wanda:That's very rare. It's ok to tell the public member nicely but to get into a heated argument....i feel your colleague is gonna be at the losing end.
Meanwhile, I'm preparing for battle when the singnet manager finally does call me....if he has the guts.... to admit their staff (more than one) made a mistake. I wonder what's their next higher level after manager?![]()
i think there must be a whole lot of people watching the drama unfold at the security camerasOriginally posted by the Bear:the heated part comes mostly from the member of the public..
the guy handling him is old hat.. he will be okay... which is why we're letting it get out of hand
in the end, it will be the member of the public who will be disgraced, and whatever "complaints" made will not stick because it is in full view of everyone..
it has been heard that the guy is demanding to jump queue and i can tell you that none of the public, nor anyone else, will stand for it this time... this section he wants to jump queue at, is made up of hardened people
Haiya, why can't they follow the Jap and Get things right the First time?Originally posted by the_don:erhm i think their director gets this kind of emails everyday......
i had experience something similar. mine was also the person tell me the wrong thing and i buy liao cannot work.
the person at the counter had assured me that the modem had router functions inbuild. but after 2 weeks of trying use the routing function, i found out the modem does not have router functions.
i went over to hello shop and bang table. finally after 3 weeks they got their vendor to bring a brand new modem and fix it up for me.![]()
i'm sure they wanna get it right too. no one likes to be screamed at. unfortunately there are stillOriginally posted by Wanda:Haiya, why can't they follow the Jap and Get things right the First time?
Actually Singtel have a reputation of putting up wrong prices and wrong promotional plans etcOriginally posted by the_don:i'm sure they wanna get it right too. no one likes to be screamed at. unfortunately there are still
a) really cannot-make-it customer service officers
b) some do-do up there gave them wrong information
c) they so busy/tired that they just give watever info they think will "get rid" of customer
d ) others (fill in yourself)
as customers we would really like for them to get it right the first time too. i hope singtel/singnet can improve on their services.
anyone else experience such things with other service providers?
I had an extremely unpleasant experience with Samsung. They got it wrong many, many times.Originally posted by Wanda:Haiya, why can't they follow the Jap and Get things right the First time?
My accent used to be a lot more pronounced in the past.Originally posted by laurence82:fudgie got accent? strange, i didnt detect it![]()

I suppose that as my voice matured, it became less and less prominent.
Hmm... what IS a 'convent girl accent'?Originally posted by elindra:![]()
I used to have a convent girl accent though I was never in a convent school before
I speak fluent Singlish now![]()
