In the first place, what's so good about shark's fin?
I find it stringy, gelatinous, and tasteless.

it's snob appeal..
frankly, the broth has all the taste.. you can boil and do what they do to sharks fin with your toenails.. it'll have the same texture because it's the same stuff

Besides, I remember reading that shark's fin has one of the highest concentrations of mercury in seafood.
