actually i am more perturbed by the thread in AA
the fact that they close down CCAs which dont produce gold awards or go for SYF
i meant, what the hell, CCA should serve students' interest, not just produce golds and silvers and what not
what is worse is that those sports chaps are expected to produce gold or risk closedown, but good sports teams and sportsmen hone their skills by pitting against better ones, lose, and try again

i was walking past a school during their assembly and the bloody people were ranting about whatever awards they have won and kept going on and on about those awards... telling their teachers and students to win awards..
it's not about education anymore...
look at it... it's like NKF..
education is forgotten.. it's about winning awards = helping the kidney patients is forgotten.. it's about raising funds... -

that's how performance is benchmarked in Singapore eh ? ...
passion ? ... nah, performance comes first ...
as long as it looks good on the higher-ups' resumes, what does it matter ? ...
ah lau will probably remember mugging through principle of accounts in our dear secondary school, as I did ... everyone was required to take POA, why ? ... cos the principal thought they were easy A's !!! .... -
The biggest rant that I have with our education system still remains the quality of teachers that we have these days. As I've mentioned before, I must shake my head at the kind of nonsense that my tuition students' teachers have been teaching them.
The teachers have been producing their own notes instead of following the textbook, ostensibly because of the 'flexibility' that notes can afford them. Flexible my ass. Notes are useless if you teach the students all the wrong things.
And once it's become firmly ingrained in their minds, it'll take one big crowbar to get it out of their heads.
Seriously, some teachers in our schools should never have become teachers in the first place. If you don't have the passion for teaching, then please stay away from the teaching profession. Full stop. If you're in it solely for the money, then I say that you're in the totally wrong place.
Such people don't realise that they're screwing up our future in the name of $$$$.

but then, even take liao 90% of people dont like it, the 10% (like me), scored A1
but, one thing for sure, Na Dao Na Qiang is a bloody elitist, under his care, we dropped thru the ranking...a testimonial to elitist, improper managment of the school -

I hated the teacher and the teacher hated me, I failed POA for two straight years but I got a distinction for that in the O's .... go figure ... -

for JC, i've never passed anything except GP during the 2 years there..
ended up with 4 A-Levels with the insanely hilarious grades of ACDC -
