Yes, $15/kg due to the cyclone in Northern Queensland last year that wiped out most of the banana plantations. For a number of months we rarely saw any bananas in the supermarket shelf and if we did see them, they were usually expensive and not of the best quality (a little bit bruised).Originally posted by the Bear:$15 a kg??

I have never missed bananas so much in my life.... during that time, sometimes I would spoil myself by getting myself 2 bananas and it would cost me about $5, ouch! Most people did the same too, just bought one or two instead of a big bunch. -

The 2 thought the passport was stamped aft paying the PLUS toll at the old road...
So they were arrested w/o a stamped visa when they were going back...
Apparently, the were charged and jailed immeditately w/o defence or whatever -

i think there is more to things than that...
the malaysian courts could get into trouble if the story is to be believed.. no due process, no checking, nothing..
