When I discovered passport not chopped. Simply ignore the custom and rode thru using the Malaysian Channel back to sg custom.
And couldnt care less. Or was borthered.
The guy in the custom counter gave the weirdest excuse for not chopping the passport. I didnt understand him but later, when I realised what it was. Doubled checked the passport and discovered it not chopped. Which is then how i brazen it out with the above actions.
He was trying to tell me: Your photo is old.
And he didnt chopped and returned mine & my pillions passport. I just rode off into Malaysia.
My question: I was wearing a full face helmet at that time. That Malaysian Custom Guy has x-ray vision to have seen thru my full face riding helmet to know that I've aged???? -
in the malaysian side of immigration at the causeway link, especially the motorcycle lanes, usually no one is inside the booth
just ask yourselves, how can ONE malaysian motorcycle lane clear passports faster than about 50 singapore lanes?
i don't think the malaysian side cares at all... and the fella who kena thrown in prison, probably was due to his being arrogant and insolent..
that being said, i would wonder about the malaysian system of "justice" -

Hmm... I haven't had problems with Malaysian customs...
But then again, I don't go overseas often... not even to JB.
In any case, even though I look and speak Malay, I stand out in a crowd in JB about as much as Michael Jackson would.
The last time I was in JB, when I spoke to the shopkeepers in Malay, a number of them actually replied in English. -
i worked at the border for more than 5 years, rarely went into johor..
and like i said, i'm privy to a lot of information about them i'm not at liberty to say -
