I made Bak KT Teh, during the earlier weekend. Just had Bak Kut teh soup boiled with left over brocoli and caulifower from last night for breakfast.Originally posted by littlestream:as in bak kut teh? i don't mind that too
The soup is too SALTY! Think my sister had thrown in extra amounts of salt to preserve that soup. Sigh....
Anyway, i finished off the bak kut teh and never ever making any other batch.

that and rice with a dish of diced chilli and soy sauce is a meal already ...

I've started on making dinner too early. Now is only 4.17pm.
Potatos was cooked till they are so soft they can crumble.
Soup is ready. I caramelised the one whole onions a bit before throwing in the diced celery, diced carrots, & then the pork ribs. Was hoping to cook the soup till the meat are all ready to melt off the bones.
Then threw in the diced tomatos. Add in salt & sugar to taste. And Wah Lah! One soup ready!
Have also marshed some Hae bee & diced up the bringjals. The vietnamese veggies are still soaking in the tub.
If there is no enough dish, then I try to cook the vietnamese spinach with the marsh hae bee & belacan. (Sis is recommending I junk thed vietnamese spinaches instead.
And I found Peppermint Snapps in the liquer cabinent.
Am now. having hot oveltine Malt, with a large pouring of the peppermint snapps in it & some whipped cream on top. Yum Yum..... -
I am getting fat.
And alcoholic drinks with whipped cream....its heavenly!
i will need to pester my sister to bring home more drinkable chocolate. -

1. I earned $10 today by helping to do a 20-minute survey conducted by a graduate student. Wahaha.
It still doesn't beat the $20 I once earned by doing a 10-minute survey conducted by a PhD student though.
2. A friend of mine has offered $200 for my Creative MP3 player. Considering that the full set cost me $300, and the fact that electronic goods depreciate in value very quickly, I would think that it's a good deal.
If I don't find someone who's willing to pay more by this Monday, it's all his.
3. My stooopid Samsung digicam has decided to work again just as I wanted to send it to the repair center.
I have no idea why it suddenly started working again. It completely refused to work yesterday, even after replacing the batteries with fresh new ones.
Whatever the case, I'm getting rid of it as soon as I have enough dosh to buy a good new one. -

and hey fudgy, it's good news... anyway, remember, don't buy samsung cameras.. it's not their forte..
i mentioned sony because some time ago, nikon actually bought the sensors from them because the colour reproduction was that good...

I heard the support for Nikon is not that great so you can only hope your camera doesn't have much complaints.
Panasonic camera is actually quite good. It's getting very popular. Did you see the photos of the native animals I posted on Singaporeans Overseas? The photos were taken with Panasonic camera. The zoom is great, 12x optical and 4x digital. -
I've got my eye on the Nikon Coolpix S8.
I was at Best Denki just now - they're offering it at $499 if I remember correctly.
But my finances don't permit it at the moment. I have to choose between getting a new MP3 player or a new camera. It's one or the other, but not both.
And in my hierarchy of needs, a fully-functional MP3 player is of greater priority than a new digicam. I need to listen to music while studying.

and yah.. panasonic's okay... they use Leica lenses...
the higher end sony cams use Zeiss lenses
i have one.. but it's more than 3 years on already.. still serving me well... being that old, it only has 5x optical but it's big enough to fit in my paws -
I know that. My hubby and I both have work phone so we are also on call 24/7. Thank God, so far I haven't been getting any phone call during odd hours unlike my hubby, sometimes gets woken up by the phone calls in the middle of the night to log on to the computer system to fix the files etc.Originally posted by the Bear:can't do that

oh.. i was a system administrator once.. but at that time, thankfully, i was part of the team that designed the system.. we put so many failsafes and so much redundancies that it could never fail unless it's the user who was dumb
the system has been running non-stop, without shutting down since 1998!
at that time when i was a sys ad, i was paged at around 11:55pm on a saturday.. and i was in a pub getting blitzed with friends
so i called back, thinking.. *$&^# can't have crashed!!
on the other side, was the team boss of the place, telling me "my account has been locked because i typed in a wrong password 3 times"
i replied "it's saturday night, it's midnight, i'm at a pub, and i'm drunk.. i'll fix that when i get back to work on monday.. in the meantime, get your duty officer to do the work.. he has the same access"
and i hung up -

I have a small canon digital camera I bought in 2003 - 4 Mega pixel and digital zoom only. It's quite good in a sense it's small and easy to carry around. The panasonic one is my hubby's and we use it when we want good photos taken. -

I just want a reliable and affordable point-and-shoot camera which can capture images good enough to be put up on my blog.
My previous camera (a 3.2 MP Fujifilm camera) served me extremely well for two years before it finally malfunctioned. Samsung should really learn a thing or two from them about making cameras that actually work.
